Director of Finance

The Director of Finance at BitSimple.ca plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and ensuring operational excellence across all fiscal functions. This role combines hands-on financial leadership with strategic insight, supporting BitSimple’s mission to make Bitcoin accessible, compliant, and secure for Canadians.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance will oversee financial planning, reporting, compliance, and treasury operations. You’ll manage everything from day-to-day accounting and reconciliations to long-term forecasting, capital allocation, and regulatory filings. This position is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, regulated fintech environments and wants to build enduring financial systems that can scale with a growing business.

Responsibilities

• Lead all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and best practices that support sustainable growth and compliance.

• Manage cash flow, treasury, and liquidity planning across operational and custodial accounts.

• Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure adherence to Canadian financial regulations, tax obligations, and reporting standards.

• Provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making, investor relations, and strategic planning.

• Oversee vendor, banking, and auditor relationships; manage audits and filings.

• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team as the company scales.

• Partner with the leadership team to evaluate fundraising, M&A, or capital structure opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Background in fintech, digital assets, or financial services preferred.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

• Experience with financial systems, audits, and compliance in regulated industries.

• Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

• CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
